Tapatalk Installed
« on: April 02, 2018, 09:44:46 AM »
For those of you who are not familiar with Tapatalk, it provides a streamlined front end to the forum for use on iPhone's/iPad's and Android devices.  It allows you to post pictures and provides additional functionality to make browsing the forum easier when doing so from a mobile device (something other than a PC or laptop).

You will get a popup message that will ask you if you want to install Tapatalk the next time you come to the forum on a device that supports Tapatalk (again, iPad/iPhone or Android).  People really seem to like the app, so please give me some feedback if you decide try it out.

I'm having an issue where tapatalk cuts off my message after a very limited amount of characters (less than a sentence...). Is it me or tapatalk?

I think it may be dependent on how much text is present when I hit reply. The paragraph I just typed got cut off at the first letter. Ha! This post I seem to be able to get more characters in though.

I will play around on tapatalk to see if there is a setting.  I checked the desktop version is the setting allows for unlimited characters.  I might need to check the database.

Are you using any special characters?  I realized my issue with the checklist.  Since I copied the list from MS Word, some hyphens were em dashes, which word will do by default depending on how you use spaces around a hyphen.  I made sure all of my characters were hyphens and the post worked just fine.

Yes, I read something about special characters, which is what my issue was with the checklist I was trying to post as well.  Its an issue with both tapatalk and the desktop version of the site.  It has something to do with UTF-8, which I have to do more research on to resolve.

I converted the database and I believe I have fixed the post cut-off issue once and for all.  If you still have any issues, please let me know.
